The Albany Walk-in Clinic is open to all patients. We offer in-person appointments only.

We are staffed with two family physicians every day.  We treat patients for health concerns that are not an emergency but can’t wait for a scheduled appointment with a family doctor or other primary care.

We staff our Walk-in Clinic with Albany Medical Clinic family physicians. After visiting at our Walk-in Clinic, please follow up with your own family physician. If you don’t have a family physician, we can add you to our wait list for a family physician.  If your own family physician is working in the Walk-in Clinic, while we strive to allocate you to your own family doctor, we cannot guarantee it.  

If you have previously been to our Walk-in Clinic, we also cannot accommodate requests to be seen by a specific family doctor that you may have previously seen. 

We try to see all patients within 1 hour of arrival at the Clinic, but our wait times can range from a few minutes to a few hours. Your wait time will depend on the time of day, nature of issues being presented by patients ahead of you on the list, and most importantly, how many patients are on our list before you.  For example, if there are 10 patients on our list that are ahead of you, you will wait about an hour to be seen.  If there are 30 patients, you will likely wait 3 hours to be seen. 

When you check in, ask how many patients are waiting to be seen ahead of you.  You can decide to wait to be seen at the Clinic or you can leave and return closer to the estimated time that you’ll be seen.  Every patient brings different issues to our physicians which takes varying amounts of time.  Any estimates that staff may give about wait times can be changed based on the events of the day.  Please be patient as you wait to get healthcare services at our Clinic.  We are all doing the best we can and appreciate your support.

We do NOT tolerate abusive language or behaviour to our Reception staff, Physicians or other patients in our waiting area.  You will be asked to find another Walk-in Clinic if you cannot treat Reception staff and our Physicians with respect.

Our physicians will not prescribe or renew Opioids/Narcotics. Please see your family physician for controlled substance prescriptions.

Our physicians in the Walk-in Clinic will not complete Physicals, Paps, Well Baby visits or forms that require medical history.  Please see your family physician.
