CORE PRINCIPALS
- Prevent illness, relieve suffering, restore health and promote wellness through each stage of life.
For years, much of medicine has been focused on relieving and restoring. Today we believe the focus must also include prevention and wellness.
- Treat all patients with respect, dignity, individuality and confidentiality.
Our patients are our customers. We want to treat our customers the way we expect to be treated.
- Create a positive work environment.
Our staff are key to us being able to deliver good medicine to our patients. We recognized that they are a vital part of our team and that they often work in a very stressful environment. They should feel good about where they work and the jobs that they do.
- Practice quality evidence-based medicine.
We practice medicine that is based on proven and known outcomes. This is not experimental stuff. A problem is identified and a program is selected that has predictable results.
- Be efficient and effective.
We value efficiency because it helps treat the volume of sick patients who need medical attention. Toronto has grown astronomically, but its supporting medical services have not. Many people cannot get a family doctor. Many people wait months to see a specialist. That is not acceptable to us, so we organize ourselves to use the resources we have most efficiently and effectively to treat volume without sacrificing quality. We are also efficient and effective because we provide a vast array of diagnostic services and specialists right on site for the convenience of our clients. Effectiveness is judged by our outcomes - did we prevent illness, did we restore health, did we relieve suffering and did we promote well being.
