CLINIC MOVE
In October 2009 our lease on the space at 200 Danforth expired. We were very pleased to announce that we committed to the development and acquisition of a new medical building for the clinic. We worked with a Toronto commercial developer, Craft Development Corporation, to construct a five storey medical building at 807 Broadview Avenue, just one block north of the subway station. Our new medical clinic will occupy the top four floors, consisting of some 35,000 usable square feet and house a state-of-the-art primary healthcare centre. This is about 50% more space than we have today. Some of that additional space will allow us to better accommodate the services we currently have and some of it will allow us to expand the scope and capacity of services available to our patients and continue to set the standard for the delivery of primary care to our patients. Craft Development Corporation was founded in 1990 and is primarily engaged in the development of retail commercial properties. They have been involved in the development of more than three million square feet of retail, office and residential projects in Ontario, working with many of the national retail chains in Canada. (Of interest - one of the principals is a patient of ours!) Our new building is being designed by the award winning architectural firm of Sweeny Sterling Finlayson & Co. Architects (and their partner in charge is also a patient of ours!) |
