Dr Arash Yazdani, a newly qualified rheumatologist, is starting up his practice out of the Albany Medical Clinic. He completed his medical school and internal medicine training at Queen’s University and his rheumatology training at the University of Toronto.

He is able to see new referrals very quickly (within 1-2 weeks for routine referrals and even faster for urgent ones). Urgent cases can be accommodated as soon as possible.

Dr Yazdani is a general adult rheumatologist and is able to see cases covering the whole breadth of rheumatology. These include (but are not limited to) the following conditions:

– Inflammatory arthritides, such as RA, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, IBD-related arthritis, etc.

– Other connective diseases, such as SLE, Sjogren’s syndrome, scleroderma, etc.

– Osteoarthritis

– Infectious arthritis

– Osteoporosis

– Vasculitis (including GCA/PMR, PAN, GPA, EGPA, MPA, Bechet’s)

– Crystal-induced arthritides, such as gout and CPPD-related arthritis

– Inflammatory myopathies

– Regional pain syndromes (e.g. back pain) to rule out inflammatory conditions

– Tendonitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, and trigger fingers

– Fibromyalgia (usually to rule out other inflammatory conditions and make treatment recommendations)

Dr Yazdani also does intra-articular corticosteroid injections (feet, ankles, knees, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders), as well as injections for of bursitis, tenosynovitis, plantar fasciitis, and trigger fingers, when indicated.

Dr Yazdani is also happy to see any cases where a family physician wants to rule out any rheumatic diseases.
